About the Archives

 

 

 

The Archives is a compilation of the history of NAFSA Region XI - New England. The Region XI team supported the formation of an Archives Committee and gave it the charge to gather information that will accurately reflect our past.  This endeavor  involved travel to the NAFSA National Archives facility in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the review of numerous newsletters both national and regional, scanning national and regional conference brochures and programs, reading written correspondences and conducting oral history interviews with veteran Nafsans.

 

Our history is important to us, as it reflects our region's growth, development and spirit.  It has been a decade long research project funded in part by NAFSA.  Jennifer Stephens and Bob Chudy were the lead project managers who enjoyed the support and tireless effort of many other fellow Nafsans.  

 

Jennifer has prepared the narrative history of Region XI and Bob gathered all the vital statistics. Richard Lazzerini has provided the website design and technical support. It was a monumental task but richly rewarding for all involved.
