About the Archives
The
Archives
is a compilation
of the history of NAFSA Region XI - New England. The Region XI team supported
the formation of an Archives Committee and gave it the charge to gather
information that will accurately reflect our past. This endeavor involved
travel to the NAFSA National Archives facility in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the
review of numerous newsletters both national and regional, scanning national and
regional conference brochures and programs, reading written correspondences and
conducting oral history interviews with veteran Nafsans.
Our history is important to us, as
it reflects our region's growth, development and spirit. It has been a decade
long research project funded in part by NAFSA. Jennifer Stephens and Bob
Chudy were the lead project managers who enjoyed the support and tireless effort
of many other fellow Nafsans.
Jennifer has prepared the narrative
history of Region XI and Bob gathered all the vital statistics. Richard
Lazzerini has provided the website design and technical support. It was a
monumental task but richly rewarding for all involved.
A special thanks to all those who
contributed to the research and development of this project:
